LEGO Editions Ayrton Senna Helmet

Senna's helmet design came from Sid Mosca, who also painted helmets for Emerson Fittipaldi and Nelson Piquet. First seen in 1979, it has a yellow base with a green stripe around the upper visor and a blue stripe around the lower one. Mosca said the stripes stood for movement and aggression and the yellow for youth, and together the colours match the flag of Brazil. Apart from sponsor logos, the design barely changed through his career.

Senna won 41 Grands Prix and three world titles with McLaren, in 1988, 1990 and 1991, before his death at Imola on 1 May 1994. LEGO says that after his passing the yellow helmet became a universal symbol of excellence and overcoming limits.

LEGO announced set 43024 on 14 August 2026 and released it on 1 September 2026. With 931 pieces it is the largest LEGO Editions F1 helmet so far, and the first in the range for a driver outside the current grid. It is bright yellow with green details and many printed sponsor logos, and the display plaque carries his signature and marks his first Formula One world championship, in 1988.

The Ayrton Senna minifigure wears a T-shirt printed with Senninha, the cartoon character Senna created to inspire children around the world, and comes with its own mini helmet. Finished, the model stands over 19 cm high, 13 cm wide and 13 cm deep.
