Carlos Sainz was born in Madrid, Spain, on 1 September 1994, the son of two-time World Rally Champion Carlos Sainz.

He made his Formula One debut with Toro Rosso in 2015, then drove for Renault and McLaren.

He joined Ferrari in 2021 and won his first Grand Prix at Silverstone in 2022, adding wins in Singapore, Australia and Mexico City.

He moved to Williams in 2025 and races with car number 55.
