Background

The story

Carlos Sainz started the 2024 Mexico City Grand Prix on 27 October from pole, passed Max Verstappen on lap 9 and led from there, winning by 4.7 seconds from Lando Norris with Charles Leclerc third.

It was round 20 of 24, Sainz's fourth Grand Prix win and his last with Ferrari. The double podium lifted Ferrari to second in the Constructors' Championship, ahead of Red Bull.
