The story

The F399 was a careful evolution of the F300, designed by Rory Byrne's team under Ross Brawn. It gained a new front wing, slimmer waisted sidepods, an improved exhaust and Bridgestone's four-groove tyres, with the 3.0-litre Tipo 048 V10 behind the driver.

At Monaco on 16 May 1999, Michael Schumacher started second, alongside Mika Häkkinen's McLaren. He took the lead at the start and went on to win, with teammate Eddie Irvine finishing second for a Ferrari one-two. It was Schumacher's fourth Monaco win and his 16th win for Ferrari, breaking Niki Lauda's record for the team, and it stretched his lead in the championship.

His title hopes ended when he broke his leg in a crash at the British Grand Prix at Silverstone. The F399 carried on, and Ferrari won the 1999 constructors' championship, the team's first since 1983. This replica shows Schumacher's number 3 car as it won in Monte Carlo.
