Background

The story

The SF-25 was Ferrari's car for 2025 and the last of its ground-effect cars before the 2026 rules. Ferrari described it as a completely new car, with a pull-rod front suspension replacing its earlier push-rod layout. It carried seven-time champion Lewis Hamilton in his first season with the team, alongside Charles Leclerc.

At Monza on 7 September 2025, Ferrari celebrated 50 years since Niki Lauda's first title. The SF-25s ran a livery inspired by the 1975 312 T, with its shade of red, white longitudinal stripes, a white engine cover, the drivers' names in cursive script, black numbers on white plates and a metallic silver rear wing.

Hamilton started tenth after a five-place grid penalty carried over from the Dutch Grand Prix, and climbed to sixth by the finish. Max Verstappen won what was the fastest race in Formula One history, at an average of 250.706 km/h.
