Background
The story
BMW launched the E30, the second-generation 3 Series, in 1982, and it became an icon of German engineering. The Cabriolet, unveiled at the 1985 Frankfurt Motor Show, brought a convertible back to the BMW range after a long gap.
It went on sale the following year, and more than 140,000 were sold in six years.
