Background

The story

The E30 M3 was BMW's first M3, built from 1986 as a homologation special for the Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft and Group A racing. Its high-revving S14 four-cylinder, with a 7,250 rpm redline, gave 195 PS with a catalytic converter and 200 PS without, and 17,970 were made.

In full race trim the E30 M3 was a hugely successful touring car. It won the Nürburgring 24 Hours five times and the Spa 24 Hours four times, often against cars with bigger or turbocharged engines.

Solido says the E30 also made its name in drifting, and models this 1990 car in a black Advan livery.
