Background

The story

The E36 M3 GTR was BMW's competition car for the 1993 ADAC GT Cup in Germany, and Johnny Cecotto won the series with it that year. BMW also built a single road-going example, with a widebody kit, stripped interior, seam-welded body, uprated suspension and an engine stroked from 2,990 to 3,018 cc.

The E36 M3 arrived as BMW withdrew from the DTM, so BMW concentrated on the 318i and 320i in the Super Touring Cup, but the M3 still raced widely. This WERK83 model shows the GTR as a plain-bodied car in black, without race livery.
