Background
The story
Fernando Alonso, born in Oviedo on 29 July 1981, won the World Championship with Renault in 2005 and 2006, becoming Spain's first champion. He has driven for Aston Martin since 2023. His usual helmet carries the colours of the Spanish flag with blue from the flag of Asturias.
At the 2025 Chinese Grand Prix in Shanghai on 23 March, Alonso retired on lap five with overheating rear brakes, caused by a brake duct setup that differed from his teammate's.
