Background
The story
The 2025 British Grand Prix at Silverstone on 6 July was run in changing, wet conditions. George Russell, due to start fourth, gambled on slick tyres at the end of the formation lap.
It did not pay off, and later in the race he spun at Becketts after another early switch to slicks. Lando Norris won the race ahead of Oscar Piastri. Russell, born in King's Lynn in 1998, won the Canadian and Singapore Grands Prix in 2025.
