Background
The story
Lewis Hamilton chose his 2017 helmet from fan submissions. The winning design used a white and yellow base with red and orange details.
At the Mexican Grand Prix on 29 October 2017 he needed fifth place to clinch the title. Contact with Sebastian Vettel at turn three gave him a puncture and left him last. He recovered to ninth, and with Vettel only fourth, Hamilton won his fourth World Championship with two races to spare. Max Verstappen won the race.
