Background

The story

The Ducati Desmosedici is Ducati's four-stroke V4 MotoGP racer; each year's bike is named GP plus the year, so the 2011 machine is the Desmosedici GP11.

Minichamps' model shows the Ducati as unveiled for 2011, Rossi's first season with the Italian factory. Valentino Rossi, born 16 February 1979, is a nine-time Grand Prix motorcycle World Champion, nicknamed "the Doctor" and widely considered one of the greatest motorcycle racers of all time. He is the only road racer to have competed in 400 or more Grands Prix.
