Background

The story

The Honda NSR500 was built by HRC (Honda Racing Corporation) for the 500 cc Grand Prix class from 1984. Honda won ten 500 cc World Championships with it between 1984 and 2002, including six in a row from 1994 to 1999, and with more than 100 wins it is described as the most dominant force in modern Grand Prix racing.

Minichamps' model shows the NSR500 Rossi tested in 2000 with Team Nastro Azzurro Honda, his first year in the 500 cc class. Valentino Rossi, born 16 February 1979, is a nine-time Grand Prix motorcycle World Champion, nicknamed "the Doctor" and widely considered one of the greatest motorcycle racers of all time. He is the only road racer to have competed in 400 or more Grands Prix.
