Background
The story
The first Skyline GT-R, the four-door PGC10, was introduced on 4 February 1969 after a debut at the 1968 Tokyo Motor Show. It used the 2.0-litre DOHC S20 straight-six, rated at 162 PS at 7,000 rpm, an engine related to the one in the Prince R380 racing car.
In October 1970 a two-door coupé, the KPGC10, arrived. It gained black FRP overfenders on the rear arches, different mirrors and a new grille. Fans named the car Hakosuka, from 'hako', Japanese for box, and 'suka', short for Skyline.
The GT-R was very successful in Japanese touring car racing until Mazda's RX-3 became its main rival from late 1971. Solido's Solido Works version is finished in Pearl White.
