Background

The story

The Lotus 99T was designed by Gérard Ducarouge for 1987, in Camel yellow and blue, with electronic active suspension that Senna insisted on using all season.

At the 1987 Monaco Grand Prix on 31 May, Senna won the 78-lap race in his Lotus-Honda, the first of his eventual six Monaco wins. Minichamps' 1:18 diecast is finished in race-dirty condition.
