Background

The story

The McLaren MCL39 was designed under the direction of Rob Marshall for 2025. It won 14 Grands Prix, seven for each driver, and took both the Constructors' and Drivers' titles, the first McLaren to do so since the MP4/13 of 1998.

At Silverstone on 6 July 2025, Lando Norris won his home Grand Prix in wet and changing conditions, ahead of teammate Oscar Piastri. It was McLaren's first British Grand Prix win since 2008 and cut Piastri's championship lead to eight points.
