Background

The story

The second-generation BMW M2, codenamed G87, was shown at Motorclassica in Melbourne in October 2022 and launched in April 2023. It shares the CLAR platform with the G80 M3 and G82 M4 and uses BMW M's twin-turbo 3.0-litre S58 straight-six.

At launch the engine was rated at 460 PS and 550 Nm. The M2 kept a 6-speed manual alongside the 8-speed automatic, and BMW quoted 0–100 km/h in 4.3 seconds for the manual and 4.1 for the automatic.

In 2023 Auto Express named it Performance Car of the Year. Solido's 1:43 model shows a 2023 car with M Performance parts, in Toronto Red.
