Nissan Skyline GT-R R34

The GT-R name returned in 1989 with the R32 Skyline GT-R, whose touring-car dominance led the Australian magazine Wheels to nickname it "Godzilla". The R34, the BNR34, followed on 8 January 1999 in GT-R, V·spec and V·spec N1 versions.

It was shorter than the R33 it replaced, with less front overhang, and it introduced a 5.8-inch multifunction display on the dashboard showing live readings such as boost pressure and oil and water temperatures. V·spec models added the ATTESA E-TS Pro all-wheel-drive system, an active rear limited-slip differential and a carbon-fibre rear diffuser.

The final run came in February 2002 with the V·spec II Nür and M·spec Nür, named after the Nürburgring where the Skyline was developed; 1,003 were built for Japan.
