Background

The story

Abarth's links with Yamaha came through MotoGP: in 2017 Abarth was in its third straight year as official sponsor and car supplier to Yamaha Factory Racing. Earlier tie-ins included the Abarth 595 Yamaha Factory Racing and the 695 Yamaha Factory Racing Edition.

The 695 XSR Yamaha limited edition was shown at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show alongside the Yamaha XSR900 Abarth motorcycle. The two share an ultralight Akrapovič exhaust, and the car has carbon-fibre trim and Sabelt seat shells. Its 1.4 T-Jet engine produced 165 hp, or 180 hp with a factory kit.
