Background

The story

Mazda built the RX-7 from 1978 to 2002 across three generations, each with a compact, lightweight Wankel rotary engine mounted front-mid and driving the rear wheels. The third generation, chassis code FD3S in Japan, was announced in October 1991 and went on sale in Japan that December.

Its 13B-REW engine was the first mass-produced sequential twin-turbo system to be exported from Japan. Developed with Hitachi, it brought in the second turbocharger in the upper half of the rev range, and output rose from 255 PS in 1992 to 280 PS by the end of production in 2002.

The high-end Type RS added Bilstein suspension and 17-inch wheels, weighed 1,280 kg and made 280 PS and 314 Nm. Solido presents this one in an orange Solido Works finish.
