Background

The story

Nissan introduced the R34 Skyline GT-R, GT-R V·spec and V·spec N1 on 8 January 1999. Compared with the R33 it was shorter, with a reduced front overhang, and its valve covers were painted glossy red instead of black. Solido's 1:43 model, listed with Nismo parts, is finished in Bayside Blue.

During testing at the Nürburgring Nordschleife in 1999, Nissan test driver Kazuo Shimizu set an unofficial 7:52 lap, beating the R33's record. The final V·spec II Nür and M·spec Nür models followed in February 2002, with 1,003 built for Japan, and Skyline GT-R production ended that August.
